He was one of the first comedic Emcees , and he lived up to his title as Chief Rocker . He would always ask the crowd.." whats your zodiac sign ? " ," whats your favorite restaurant ? "..." if  you love your mom say ho ".....things like that .These were techniques that all emcees used at the time , but Busy relied a little more on these than most other emcees  . He was usually backed on the wheels by  Cool Dj Aj...who later   became the Dj for Kurtis Blow. A perfect display of his party starter techniques can be seen in the movie Wild Style. Busy Bee was once a member of the Fantastic 5 Emcees .Its claimed that Spoonie Gee wrote rhymes for Busy , and that he stole his name from Luv Bug Starski . Kool Moe Dee says this in the legendary Harlem World New Years Battle where he ripped Busy a new one. Actually there were two battles.....the first was a tie and Moe Dee  ; who still has the trophy won the second one." Making Cash Money " from 82 on Sugarhill records is one of his best jams.....but his best work is the 1988 Jazzy Jay produced Running Thangs Lp.

 

Busy put the comedy to the side and was amazingly hardcore....... " Suicide " ,  " Express "   and " Runnin Thangs " were the bangers here.Melle Mel also wrote a few jams for this lp. In the early 90s Busy dropped " Thank God For Busy Bee " ...which was a good lp...but was slept  on.   He also performed on the Raiders Of The Lost Art lp and Funkmaster Flex Mixtape Vol 3 . Most recently he  appeared on De La Souls " Art Official Intellegence " lp......all praise due to De La  !
